Bremerton grew up around one of Puget Sound's most beautiful harbors. Located directly across the Puget Sound from Seattle and serving as the gateway to the Olympic Peninsula, Bremerton's unique location affords convenient access to Seattle by ferry or interstate highway. Tacoma is 45 minutes to the south while the Olympic National Forest is one and a half hours to the west.

Two types of ferries serve Bremerton from downtown Seattle—one takes foot-passengers only, and one is for cars and walk-ons. The latter trip takes an hour, and the foot-ferry provides for a much faster commute. Once off the ferry, you're in the largest city in Kitsap County.

Bremerton is a unique modified urban scene, with coffeehouses, the bustle of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, and plenty of downtown shops. It also is home to Harrison Hospital and Olympic Community College and Kitsap Community Theater.
