In  addition to its new economic and retail centers, Bellevue has preserved more  than 1,700 acres of parks and open spaces, including 56 developed parks - 10 of  which are located on the water - and nearly 40 miles of trails. This city also  has been recognized for its diversity, recently receiving a National League of  Cities   award for a wide range of cultural diversity programs.
